Also adopted was the performance audit report on primary health care services in the state. The committee noted improvements in healthcare infrastructure but I expressed concern over shortages of doctors, nurses and midwives, inadequate medical equipment and essential drugs, as well as irregular water and electricity supply in some health facilities. It called for immediate recruitment and equitable deployment of health personnel, timely release of funds, improved maintenance of facilities and stronger monitoring of healthcare funds, including the Basic Health Care Provision Fund and Anambra State Health insurance Agency.

In another development, the House considered a motion on the prevention of Haemolytic Disease of the Newborn, HDN, sponsored by Mr. Noble Igwe. The motion urged Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the Commissioners for Health and Information and Value Reformation to ensure that Rho(D) Immune Globulin injections are accessible, affordable and adequately publicised across the state.

Mr Ozobia, who hailed from Ekwulumili, died last month  while funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by his family. The House thereafter adjourned plenary to Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
